US corporations aim to install more than 3 GWh of battery capacity – PV International magazine

With electricity demand rising and solar prices falling, U.S. companies are investing in record amounts of solar power and energy storage systems to provide energy supply and offset emissions.

The Solar Energy Industries Association’s (SEIA) ninth annual Solar Means of Business report notes that in the first quarter of 2024, U.S. utilities reported more than 3 GWh of contract battery energy storage capacity expected to be in service through 2029.

The document also reported that enterprise energy storage usage exceeded 1.8 GWh, and enterprises added nearly 40 GW of solar power generation capacity.
