Fred Sugden

Deputy Director for Defense and National Security, techUK

Fred is responsible for techUK’s activities in the defense and national security sectors, aiming to provide members with access to key stakeholders in the defense and national security community. Before taking up the role of Deputy Director for Defense and National Security, Fred joined techUK in 2018, working as the Defense Program Manager at techUK and leading the organization’s engagement with the Ministry of Defence. Prior to joining techUK, he worked for ADS, the national trade association representing the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space companies.

Fred is responsible for techUK’s market engagement and policy development across the defense and national security sectors, working closely with various MoD organizations as well as the wider national security and intelligence community. Fred works closely with many techUK member companies that have an interest in these sectors and is responsible for the activities of techUK’s Senior Defense and Security Council. Working closely with techUK’s Cyber ​​Security Program Manager, Fred oversees a wide range of events for techUK members.

Outside of work, Fred’s interests include football (we support Watford Football Club) and skiing.
