Ruben Amorim at Manchester United: “New manager, anyone?”

Ruben Amorim at Manchester United: “New manager, anyone?”

Manchester United’s draw with Ipswich Town was a major disappointment; there was not even a hint of rebound at Portman Road.

Send your thoughts on the 1-1 draw to [email protected] or discuss Liverpool, Arsenal, Brighton, Leeds United or whatever else takes your fancy…

Ruben at least speaks honestly
I have no idea whether Ruben Amorim will succeed at Manchester United, but it’s great to have a manager who talks honestly and openly about players and tactics and actually answers the questions that are asked of him. We hope that work and the media circus will not turn him into stone.

Nae is jumping up there
New manager. Anyone? Squish? Splat?

Hats off to the doctors
In this week’s winners and losers, I think you have to give credit to the medical staff at Arsenal and City. They have obviously worked wonders by getting all of them too ‘injured’ to play in the squad for this weekend’s games.

Saka especially looked like he had an injury. Hmmmm.

And we (must be) ALIVE!
Sky Sports are so incompetent at showing replays it’s off the charts.

For the first goal in the Saints – Liverpool match they gave up live performances to show the world’s most boring rerun. Then the commentator is delighted with what is happening live, and they still don’t slow down until the ball hits the net!

This happens again and again. We just need a live picture, if there is a long-term injury, fine – show something, but never when the ball is in play.

If they were making a wedding video, they would show the best man adjusting his tie as the bride walks down the aisle.

Will Salah replace Henry?
I made a mistake reading Dave Tickner’s review of the Liverpool game. It’s poorly written, as is his style. The rest of the staff writers must charge him a pound for a comma, 5 pounds for an Oxford comma, and for every sentence beginning with “And” or “But.” That’s how we know Stewie and Al aren’t F365 characters, they all write better than them.

He ignored Liverpool’s first half-hour lead. 45% possession for the third time. Several poorly implemented breaks led to two well-deserved yellow cards. Then a goal, also the result of pressure from Jones, and a good goal.

After the goal the pressure disappeared. Suddenly we’re not creating chances, half the back four are on yellow cards and the midfield has no control.

Robbo then fouled the player to prevent him from entering the penalty area. Free kick on the edge of the penalty area. Oh, the judges were given a pen. Okay, let’s see the VAR replay. Robbo’s foot is behind the line, the contact is far outside the penalty area, there is no continuation of the foul into the penalty area. An easy option for VAR. Arsenal fans note this in your dossier as evidence against it.

To a certain generation, Thierry Henry is the greatest Premier League player of all time. At the end of this season, Salah could beat him on goals and equalize the league tally won. Moreover, Salah did not single-handedly introduce the world to the business case for VAR, like Henry. Salah will receive this award this season.

Quick question for Arsenal fans. Pep has the worst record as a manager and is still ranked higher than Arsenal. I hope to change next game week. Are you rooting for Liverpool this season as the team most likely to beat City?

Hats off to Spurs, Pep’s formidable team, every now and then there’s a good team there. But not every week, please!

Let’s be honest, Liverpool are lucky…
All the lazy talk about banana peels, complacency, looking too far ahead… yes, thankfully they were avoided at St. Mary’s today. But were they there then? Rather, I believe that we really slipped, were complacent, were caught waiting for Madrid and City a week before agreeing on the next obstacle. These are the serious sins of football, aren’t they? But we got the result, and who in red wouldn’t figure out how standings looks right now, despite its shaky character.

Konate has let the recent accolades and positive reviews of his work in France go to his head; he was terrible today. I felt Robertson cooing long before I missed that handle (albeit unfortunately as it was clearly outside the area ((penny for Michael Oliver’s thoughts as VAR (or should that be a dirham?))). Wow cringe, triple brackets Anyway, Robbo took some shots in the first half that were absolutely of the worst quality, as if he had never caught a ball Tsimikas hasn’t had a chance at all this season. long term and Szoboszlai was his usual uneven performer, despite an immediate burst of quality in a much-needed opening.

At the end of the day we benefited from two shocking opponent errors and one (clear) handball penalty, but why not? Our entire season is about receiving gifts, so let’s stick with that theme for as long as it lasts, bells and all. Find it in your heart, won’t you? Keep giving.

Did Klopp hold Liverpool back?
I’m serious. It’s his team, but look what Sloth does with it.

City fans, don’t despair
You’ll be playing Everton soon and that’s guaranteed to get you back on track.

Ben Davis: The Ultimate Professional
There’s a lot of praise, Spurs were great. But I want to give Ben Davis the credit he has deserved for many years. A top-class professional who has been a brilliant manager of the club for ten years. Selfless, competent and hardworking. We, on the other hand, don’t have a chance to see behind the scenes of the dressing room, but I think he is the sort of standard-setter that every club would benefit from having. Dragusin won’t be able to get through this game without Davis by his side.

I love this guy.

Chelsea are not really a big team.
Although in general I agreed with the gist of Lee’s letter, entitled “Is Guardiola a fraud?” On Sunday“I can’t accept his description of Chelsea as a traditional big team.”

Unless Lee was about eight years old in 2003 when Abramovich came along, and he doesn’t think 20 years is long enough for something to be considered traditional, he is very mistaken indeed.

Chelsea are not traditionally successful and are not a big team. Recently they had a lot of money, twice.
