2025 Honda City Facelift Unveiled Globally: Here’s How It’s Different From the India Version

The 2025 Honda City will feature dual-zone automatic climate control and electronic parking brake while maintaining a similar design to the old model.

Restyled Honda City 2025 presented in Brazil

  • The restyled 2025 Honda City was unveiled in Brazil.

  • It features a redesigned grille with horizontal design elements.

  • The interior of the City 2025 has a white and black theme.

  • It includes new features such as dual-zone automatic climate control and an electronic parking brake.

  • The powertrain remains unchanged, with a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to either a manual or CVT gearbox.

Available in India, the current Honda City will go on sale from March 2023. The facelifted version of the compact sedan was recently launched in Brazil and is expected to launch in India as the 2025 Honda City. This facelift includes minor changes including a new grille and additional features such as automatic air conditioning and electronic parking brake. Let’s take a look at the differences between the 2025 Honda City and the current model sold in India.

Similar design with updated grille

The updated Honda City in Brazil is very similar to the Indian version, but there are a few differences. The Brazilian model has a radiator grille with horizontal lines, while the Indian model has diamond-shaped design elements. Both models share the same chrome strip connecting the LED headlights, as well as the front bumper and fog lamp housing. They also share identical features such as 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED tail lights and a sleek rear bumper.

Another interior theme

The Brazilian version of the 2025 Honda City comes with a dual-tone white and black interior color scheme.

The current Honda City in India has a beige and black interior, while the Brazilian model has a white and black interior theme. Additionally, the Brazilian version has white leatherette seats as compared to the beige leatherette seats in the Indian model.

New features and security technologies

The Brazilian version of the 2025 Honda City will be equipped with an electronic parking brake

The Brazilian version of the City is equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control and an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function. The wireless charging pad is now located behind the gear lever and features a similar 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. However, the volume dial and touch buttons are different from the Indian version. Other features like the semi-digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, 8-speaker audio system and single-pane sunroof remain the same.

Same transmission

There is no difference in the powertrain option and the 2025 Honda City continues to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine whose detailed specifications are as follows:

Engine

1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.

Power

121 hp

Torque

145 Nm

Transmission of infection

6-speed manual transmission/CVT*

*CVT = continuously variable automatic transmission.

The Honda City for India offers a hybrid powertrain option that combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with two electric motors to produce a combined power output of 127bhp. and 253 Nm. This hybrid option is not available on the recently launched Brazilian Honda City. However, the Indian city is expected to continue offering a hybrid powertrain in 2025.

Expected price and competitors

2025 Honda City

The Brazilian-spec Honda City is expected to go on sale in India in 2025, likely at a slightly higher price than the current Indian model. For context, the Honda City price in India ranges from Rs 11.82 lakh to Rs 16.35 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The 2025 model will continue to compete with the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Virtus and Maruti Ciaz.
