Chuck Todd’s Biggest Fear for the Next Generation if Trump Wins

Chuck Todd’s Biggest Fear for the Next Generation if Trump Wins

Chief Political Analyst for NBC News Chuck Todd on Sunday revealed what he fears most about the upcoming election if Donald Trump defeats Kamala Harris and returns to the White House.

About the latest Meet the press from NBC News, Todd joined Telemundo’s senior Washington correspondent. Christina Londoño Rooneyformer Mike Pence chief of staff Mark Shortand MSNBC host and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for a panel discussion with the moderator Kristen Welkercovering Tuesday’s election.

As the group discussed the election results, Todd suggested that “neither party” would accept the election results. But his biggest fear is that if Trump wins, it will doom both American politics and perhaps government, or at least the Republican Party, for “an entire generation.”

“You know, my biggest fear about this election is that if Trump wins, I think for a generation they believe in the way you conduct yourself in politics and that this will perpetuate that for a generation,” said He. “I fear that its transactional nature could actually turn the party into a kleptocracy if we are not careful.”

“I really think that’s what I think is on the ballot for how our policies are going to move forward for the next, for another half generation,” Todd said.

Well, look, I, I – the interesting thing about this is that neither side is going to be satisfied – they are not going to admit defeat. The question is, “Do you accept defeat because you don’t like the vote count” or “Do you accept defeat because you don’t like the way the party did it,” right?

I – you know, my biggest fear about this election is that if Trump wins, I think for a generation they believe in the way you conduct yourself in politics and that this will perpetuate that for a generation. I fear that its transactional nature could actually turn the party into a kleptocracy if we are not careful.

And another thing about political parties is that when they lose, they end up trying to imitate the party that wins. Not necessarily.

And while the Democrats are trying to be the anti-version of this, losing two out of three, there will be an account within the left that can say, “Hey, if you can’t beat them, join them.” “You know, whether it’s a lie or an exaggeration, whatever you want, I really think that’s what I think is on the ballot for how our politics is going to move forward for another, for another half a generation.
