2025 is just around the corner, and while we’ve already started previewing what’s to come, we’re also taking time to look ahead and warn you that there are some big TV series coming out throughout the year.

Before we look at the list of films that could leave Netflix in 2025, we need to remember that removal dates aren’t always set in stone, just contract licenses running out. As a result, Netflix and the actual owners of said content (such as NBC Universal with Suits) could agree to extend the license. It’s also worth noting that these dates primarily apply to Netflix in the US, and departure dates may vary from region to region.

As for even more removals in 2025, we just published a list of more than 90 Netflix original films slated to leave the service within the year.


supernatural (seasons 1–15)

One of two titles from The CW set to expire approximately five years after the final season on Netflix, it will be a fan favorite. supernatural. The show is a regular on Nielsen’s year-end lists, so it’s going to make fans very upset by the end of the year.

The series aired for 14 years and produced a total of 327 episodes. This equates to 228 hours and changes, which in real terms is nine and a half full days of content. So, to watch it, you’ll have to set aside over a week to clear out your diary. Considering how many viewers watch this show, it would be ripe for renewal, but at this point we have to assume it will go away.


Arrow

For our second pick, The CW’s Arrow, the first major show in the Arrowverse (which is almost entirely available on Netflix with the exception of a few shows) will go away while the rest arrive in the coming years. Arrow will presumably take its place in Max, where most of DC’s other content resides, when it leaves Netflix.

Madam Secretary (seasons 1–6)

If You Can Believe It, the CBS Series Madam Secretary almost ended five years ago, and next year will mark five years since Netflix picked up the rights to a sixth and final season. With this addition, the clock began ticking down on when the show would end, which would be mid-2025 when all six seasons would presumably leave to take a permanent position on Paramount+.

The political thriller aired between 2014 and 2019 and starred Téa Leoni as Elizabeth McCord, first secretary of state and later president. If you love Netflix Diplomatyou will definitely want to come back or discover this show before it comes out.

Arriving on Netflix in 2023, at the height of the Hollywood shutdown, Suits dominated Netflix’s top 10 in the US for several weeks, garnering a ton of press. Of course, Netflix only picked up the first eight seasons and eventually added a 9th season this year, but the rights will expire in July, two years after it first aired.

In this case, we would likely expect the new deal to hold. Suits on Netflix for the foreseeable future, especially given the amount of headlines this show generated when it first came out. It’s also in NBC Universal’s best interest to keep people interested in the series, given that the reboot is approaching.


NCIS (seasons 12-17)

For a long time, NCIS was set to leave Netflix entirely in mid-2024, and while most of the early seasons did leave the streamer in the United States, we got an unexpected shakeup: several new seasons were added in addition to those removed. Seasons 12 through 17 are scheduled to be reshuffled (or removed entirely) in mid-2025. Will it go away like Criminal Minds did and never look back, or will Netflix just license a few new seasons and lose the old ones? We’ll find out next year.

As we first reported over the summer, Netflix has acquired licenses to nearly a dozen AMC films, all of which will arrive in mid-August 2024. As Netflix confirmed at the time of the announcement, all of these shows were licensed to Netflix for a short one-year term. term licenses. Throughout 2024, Netflix issued temporary streaming licenses to a number of shows owned by Disney and its subsidiaries such as ABC and FX.
