Triple M’s Rush Hour cancelled, replaced by The Marty Sheargold Show

Local radio took a hit, saying on Friday that Rush hour – one of Brisbane’s last FM shows – has been cancelled.

The show, hosted by Leisel Jones, Liam Flanagan and Ben “Dobbo” Dobbin on Triple M, will be replaced by expanded syndication The Marty Sheargold Showbased in Melbourne.

News Rush hour The withdrawal comes amid positive ratings, with the show ranked third in Brisbane in the latest GfK ratings survey. Nova 106.9 has the highest rating, followed by B105.

Speaking on air, Jones called the news “devastating” for himself.

“This is something we are really proud of here at Rush hour and what we built and all about local stories.”

In a statement, Triple M thanked and celebrated the show’s hosts. The Marty Sheargold Show as an exciting ‘bonus’ for listeners in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney and regional markets from 2025.

“The new Triple M line-up for 2025 marks the end of the Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth tournaments. Rush Hour shows,” the message says.

“These shows have brought together an exceptional group of broadcasters and Triple M would like to thank the teams for their hard work and commitment over several years.”
