Airline, Captain Shreve, Evangel, Parkway and Huntington all picked up LHSAA 5A wins in week nine.

Airlines’ Ben Taylor completed 31 of 39 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns, leading the undefeated Vikings to a 35-21 victory over Byrd Friday night in District 1-5A at Lee Hedges Stadium.

Kenny Darby caught 13 passes for 126 yards and two scores and Jarvis Davis added 10 catches for 97 yards for the Vikes (9-0, 8-0). Byrd (7-2) got 88 yards from Quinton Hillard and 16 tackles from Sam Greer.

North DeSoto 49, Loyola 13: The Griffins (7-2) got three touchdown passes from speedy Kenny Thomas to beat the Flyers (6-3) in a District 1-4A showdown. Thomas scored on a 6-yard run and a 3-yard run in the first half and added a receiving touchdown from Luke Delafield after halftime. Delafield found Jared Jackson for a 13-yard touchdown and Hayden Bell contributed a 102-yard interception return. Loyola’s points were scored by Ben Brewer on passes from Bryce Restovich and Jake Black on a 92-yard kickoff return.

Ruston 49, Pineville 0: The Bearcats (7-2, 2-2) returned to winning ways with a win over Pineville (3-6, 0-4). Jordan Hayes and Dylon Brooks each had two rushing touchdowns, while Josh Brantley connected with Ahmed Hudson for another Ruston score. Aiden Anding scored on a 45-yard punt return.

Captain Shreve 63, Haughton 34: The Gators (5-4, 4-3) continued their scoring streak with a win over the Buccaneers (2-7, 1-7). Jamarsi Plater scored five rushing touchdowns and Gabe Lockett added two more Gator scores. Brodie Savage had TD passes to Cam Hines and DJ Waldon. Haughton’s Taylor Weathersby scored three times on two TDs and threw a touchdown pass to Jacob Delaney. Brandon Craig and Harley Ingram each added one TD for the Bucs.

Northwood-Shreveport 21, Minden 17: John Snead’s second goal of the night in the fourth quarter lifted the Falcons (8-1, 5-1) past the Crimson Tide (7-2, 4-2). Jackson Bentzler completed a 16-yard pass to Jordan Welborn for Northwood. Minden’s Kayden Shine and Denarius Crow scored quickly and Bryson Ranger added a 36-yard field goal.

Homer 34, North Caddo 6: The Pelicans (4-5, 3-2) beat the Titans (3-6, 2-3) in District 1-2A play. Gregory Williams threw for three touchdowns in the win, while Kevin Williams Jr. threw passes to Antonio Casey and Spencer Dunn. The Titans’ lone goal came on a pass from Jacolby Spearman to Mason Jackson.

Lincoln Prep 40, Plain Dealing 3: The Panthers (6-3, 4-2) beat the Lions (0-9, 0-7). Lincoln Prep received rushing touchdowns from D’Tarion Wright, Verlanski Glossom, Jayden Huntley, Samuel Williams and Shemar Evans, and Senario Wilson returned a punt for a score.

Pickering 26, Ringgold 6: Ringgold (3-6) lost to the Red Devils (3-6). RHS’ lone score came from Keonce Moore on a 40-yard run.

57 Boulevard, 21 Benton: The Panthers (8-1, 6-1) picked up their third straight win with a win over the Tigers (1-8, 1-6). C.J. Dudley broke the single-season TD rushing record with his 21st. The former record holder was Benton assistant coach Robert McKnight. Carmaro Mayo, Josh Tell, Chase Crowder and Mitchell Anderson each added TDs for Parkway. Benton had TD runs from Greg Chambers, Case Austin and Conner Jeter.

Arcadia 14, Cedar Creek 12: The Hornets (4-5, 3-3) slipped past the Cougars (1-8, 1-4) in the fourth quarter on Ian Fitzgerald’s 20-yard run. Bryce Gates also scored in the return match for Arcadia. The Cougars had QB Cason Floyd and another rushing touchdown in Trigger Woodard.

Gospel 56, Lafayette Christian 42: The Eagles (4-5) beat the Knights (3-6) at home on Friday night. Damari Drake scored three goals for the Eagles, while Ashton Dawson and Josh Isaac each scored two goals. Johnny Casey added another TD for Evangel.

Logansport 55, LaSalle 0: The Logansport Tigers (6-2, 4-0) clinched at least a share of the District 3-1A title with a win over LaSalle (4-5, 2-2). Jukadin Carter and Tonashton Bland each had two rushing touchdowns for Logansport. Collin Magee threw touchdown passes to Jordan Meshell and Sirdarius Dotson. Joseph Powell and Hunter Martin each had unsuccessful returns for Logansport.

Union Parish 35, Magnolia Charter 0: The Fighting Farmers (5-4, 5-1) defeated the Mariners (0-8, 0-5). Tykerius Wilson, Derrick Due, Trevion Fields, Devonte Brazle and Marcus Ross scored for Union Parish.

Red River 50, Winnfield 6: The Bulldogs (5-4, 4-0) clinched the District 3-2A title with a win over the Tigers (4-5, 1-2). Red River had touchdowns from Jomello McDonald, Carl Lewis, Cameron Jones, Montreveun Smith, Calleon Demery, Latin Lewis and Cedric Moody. Damascus “Tank” Lewis scored the only goal for the Tigers.

Woodlawn 40, Bossier 14: The Knights (3-6, 2-4) broke a two-game skid with a win over the Bearcats (3-6, 1-5). Woodlawn’s Brandon Henderson had a stellar night on both sides of the ball, throwing three touchdowns and two interceptions. Cayden Pikes added another Knight touchdown and Javion Washington added a pick-6.

Jonesboro-Hodge 30, Glenbrook 29: The Tigers (3-6, 3-2) defeated Glenbrook (5-2, 4-1). Easton Sanders, Seth Mangrum, Brason Cummings and Jackson Wallers scored for GHS.

Calvary 48, Green Oaks 8: The Cavaliers (7-2, 5-0) clinched at least a share of the District 1-2A title with a win over the Giants (1-8, 0-5). Green Oaks’ lone goal came on a pass from Tovoras Lee to Tony Johnson Jr.

Huntington 36, Natchitoches Central 25: The Raiders (5-4, 5-2) stopped a three-game skid with a win over NCHS (1-8, 0-7). Jamarion Washington scored four goals for Huntington. Niles Hallaby added another player to the Raiders’ roster.

Mansfield 47, Lakeside 14: The Wolverines (5-4, 2-1) earned a district win over the Warriors (7-2, 1-3). Lakeside’s Taron Riley had a hand in both scores, throwing a 25-yard pass to Eli Santelises and returning the kickoff 75 yards.

North Webster 39, Muncie 8: The Knights (3-6) won back-to-back wins over the Tigers (0-9). JaMirian Jackson, Braydon Robertson and Kemo Jefferson quickly led North Webster. Christian Whitlock connected with Jacoby Lawson to score another goal for the Knights. Donte Owens added a pick-6 for NWHS.

By the way, 48, Southwood 35: The Lions (4-5, 2-4) broke a four-game skid with a win over the Cowboys (0-8, 0-6). BTW’s Aaron Dillard scored three rushing touchdowns. Devion Stewart threw three TD passes, two to Vontravius ​​Moore and one to DK Mitchell. Chris Mosley added another rushing touchdown for the Lions, and Vincent Blake returned a fumble for a touchdown.
