Tinley Park barricade situation ended 15 hours later with arrest and transport to hospital

COOK COUNTY, IL. — One person was taken into custody and two others were taken to hospitals for evaluation after a 15-hour standoff with authorities in south suburban Tinley Park, authorities said.

What a Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesman called a “barricade situation” began shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at a home near 179th Street and Harlem Avenue. It ended just after 3:30 a.m. Friday when Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Tinley Park Police Department and South Suburban Emergency Response Team were able to get inside, the spokesman said.

One person was arrested “without incident.” The two were taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation into the incident continues, a spokesman said Friday afternoon.
