Ryan Gosling doing his own stunts in The Fallen Boy?

During a speech at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert In February 2024, Ryan revealed that he was actually the man behind some of the film’s exciting stunts.

The actor admitted that he could not avoid stunt work, since the film is a tribute to stuntmen, and director David Leitch is a former stuntman himself.

“I was ready to be the first actor to say that I didn’t do a single stunt myself. I would be happy to say that,” he said. “They weren’t going to let that happen.”

Explaining that during the filming of one stunt scene he was thrown from a 12-storey building and dragged across the Sydney Harbor Bridge while he rode a shovel in another, Ryan revealed that the directors and producers wanted to use real stunts in the film rather than rely on to computer graphics and the color green. screens.

“It was very early. I wasn’t completely hooked on the caffeine. I grabbed a shovel and suddenly it happened,” the actor said about filming the scene on the bridge, which attracted the attention of the press. “We’ve done this several times. But how did this iconic trick come about? According to lead stunt coordinator Chris O’Hara, Sydney’s love for the humble garbage truck was all they needed.

“The whole idea for the garbage truck came from a scout director who saw all the garbage trucks and construction work in Sydney,” he said. WHO. “It was the first thing we really prepared and… it was like a mobile stunt factory.”

“(Ryan) did more than just a little bit himself,” added stunt coordinator Keir Beck about the stunt work required in the film. “He did a lot of it himself, and it was so impressive for an actor of his caliber that he was able to inhabit the role of a stuntman, both in character and as a stuntman, so hats off to Ryan – he did that. a lot of myself and that was really impressive to see.”
