Harris criticized Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, saying the former president is “fixated on his grievances, on himself and on dividing our country.”

Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris arrives on Air Force Two at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024.

“This is absolutely what is intended and fuels attempts to divide our country. And as I have said many times, I will say in my speech tomorrow night that there is a big difference between him and me,” Harris told reporters as she left Joint Base Andrews for a day of campaigning in Michigan.

Asked to respond to comments about Puerto Rico at the rally that the Trump campaign tried to distance itself from, Harris pointed to her support for Puerto Rico as a senator and her “opportunity economy” proposal.

“I’m very proud to have the support of people like Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez and others who supported me before that nonsense last night at Madison Square Garden, and they support me because they understand that they want the President of the United States. It’s about uplifting people, not berating people, not calling America a trash can, like Donald Trump did, those are the words he used.”
