29-year-old Malaysian pharmacist stabbed to death in his Melbourne home

The suspect, Simon Hunter, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via video link from his cell at Heidelberg police station.

Hunter was deemed unfit for police questioning and concerns were raised about his behavior after his arrest.

During the court hearing via video link, the suspect removed his clothes in front of Magistrate Tara Hartnett, which resulted in him being moved to a room for better communication.

The hearing was adjourned when the man reappeared and spoke incoherently.

Georgie Kariela, his lawyer, told the court he suffered from schizophrenia and had not taken his medication for two weeks.
