Hyundai RN24 N Division Concept Release Information

Hyundai RN24 N Division Concept Release Information

Hyundai’s high-performance N division has just unveiled the RN24 concept, the “Rolling Lab”, at N Day 2024, showcasing the brand’s vision for the next generation of high-performance electric vehicles (EVs). The concept is based on Hyundai’s acclaimed IONIQ 5 N platform, combining a dual-motor system with a compact chassis inspired by the World Rally Championship, designed for maximum agility and control.

The RN24 reflects Hyundai N’s philosophy of bringing motorsport-level technology to the road, based on three core principles: “Crasher on the Corner”, “Possibility on the Race Track” and “Everyday Sports Car”. In contrast to traditional EV concepts, the RN24 favors a lightweight and compact design, enhanced by a 640 PS electronic system derived from the IONIQ 5 N but mounted on a shorter wheelbase comparable to the B-segment Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid.

Equipped with rally-inspired suspension and advanced drive control systems, the RN24 allows drivers to adjust performance characteristics directly from the steering wheel – features similar to Hyundai’s rally models. The compact chassis is stabilized by an open roll cage and 3D printed structural reinforcements, keeping it lightweight while enhancing stability. In addition, the car’s design includes a unique sound system that uses side-mounted speakers and a rear wing that serves as a sound box to create a soundtrack that matches its performance.

At the time of writing, Hyundai hasn’t shared any extensive plans for the RN24, but we expect to see more soon.
