The Eagles veteran suffered an injury that ended his season and possibly his career.

Eagles cornerback Brandon Graham is 36 years old and has played 206 games in his career, but he didn’t look like an aging star during his strong performance in Sunday’s 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Graham had two tackles and a sack and led a defensive front that consistently hounded Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, sacking him five times. Graham has 3.5 sacks this season, his 15th with the Eagles. He was also strong against the run on Sunday night.

But in the fourth quarter, coaches got Graham some help by looking at his elbow after a Rams running back blocked Graham as he lunged at a passer. Before Graham was ejected from the game, several players, including quarterback Jalen Hurts, approached him and said a few words before Graham was taken to the locker room – a sign that the injury was serious.

Graham left the game with a torn triceps, likely ending his season and his storied career, which included the sack of Tom Brady that gave the Eagles their only Super Bowl victory.

“If I had to go out like that, I would give everything I had,” Graham said. “I’m happy with the way I played today. I couldn’t ask for anything else. We just need to stay focused and I, as a leader, am going to make sure my presence is felt in this part… At the end of the day, if I had to go out like this, I like how I gave it my all on the field. All I know is that they’re not done with me yet, but it won’t take long because I’m going to see how I can move forward to help my team.”

Graham said he had triceps tendonitis before he was injured.

“But this time was different,” Graham said. “It stung a little longer. And then when they tried to examine me, I realized that something was wrong.”

Graham, who considered retiring before deciding to play this season, said it was too early to tell if his season and career were over. Meanwhile, the Eagles improved to 9-2.

“Man… like I told the guys, the mission is still the mission,” Graham said, via NBC. “We’re putting everything we can into this game. When I say I trust God, I trust God. I’m just enjoying myself and going enjoy this little bit of rehabilitation and it will be a pleasure to lead this team for the rest of the year and as soon as I can get back there, I will be back there.”

Head coach Nick Sirianni said he wants to wait for a final diagnosis.

“I love him,” Sirianni said. “He’s one of my favorite guys I’ve ever coached. Let’s see where it is. I’m not ready to talk about it yet. I’m holding out hope, but we’ll see.”

Graham has been a stalwart of the Eagles since they drafted him 13th overall in 2010. He has 76.5 career sacks and moved into third place in franchise history when he picked off Stafford in the second quarter.

The Eagles are already weak on defense. Beers Huff had surgery on his left wrist Thursday and was placed on injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game.

With Huff gone, linebacker Jalyx Hunt is expected to have an increased workload. Hunt, a third-round pick in this year’s draft, started on special teams but saw increased time on defense ahead of Huff during games against the Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys. However, Hunt did not play on defense in Thursday’s win over the Washington Commanders.

Hunt was expected to be a developing player as he continues to explore more of the edge rusher position after starting his college career as a defensive back. His quickness with offensive linemen has been noticeable in his limited time on the field, with Hunt having a sack and three tackles this season.
