Six NHS trusts will deploy Deepc’s radiology artificial intelligence platform as part of a collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence for Value-Based Healthcare Center (AI4VBC).

The partnership aims to accelerate and transform the NHS’s adoption of AI in radiology to speed up and improve diagnosis and care across a wide range of treatment areas, including dementia, heart failure and cancer.

Over the past five years, AI4VBH has developed numerous platforms to provide secure access to electronic health data for the development of AI models and the implementation of AI technologies.

Through the partnership, deepc will provide technology, resources and expertise to support the continued development of new and existing innovations and help improve the center’s ability to implement them in clinical settings.

Franz Pfister, CEO and co-founder deepsaid:“Deepc was created to bridge the rapidly growing gap between what the best AI innovations in radiology can now achieve and the ability of healthcare systems to access these advances.

“Hospitals and doctors know AI can help them and their patients, but they need support to unlock the benefits and navigate technical and regulatory challenges.

“We are incredibly proud to announce a long-term strategic partnership with AI4VBC, which will help accelerate and scale the adoption of radiology AI tools across the NHS.

“Together we hope to lay the foundations for the NHS to become a true core of excellence in artificial intelligence in radiology around the world.”

As part of the initiative, deepc will deploy its deepcOS platform to six NHS trusts, with the intention of expanding to 10 trusts.

Professor Sebastien, Director of AI4VBC, said: “Our partnership with deepc will begin by helping six NHS trusts access more than 75 clinically proven artificial intelligence tools, but this is just the beginning.

“Deepc will play a vital role in supporting AI4VBCfuture growth of Russia.

“By working together, we can make the NHS a true leader in the safe and effective use of artificial intelligence, ultimately benefiting our patients.”

The first six trusts to start using the platform will be Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust FT, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Foundation Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Sussex NHS FT and East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. FT.

Laurence Tallon, Deputy Chief Executive of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS FT, said: “This partnership will enable us to accelerate the development of our AI accelerated learning initiatives.

“We look forward to working more closely to realize the benefits of AI in clinical practice for patients across the NHS.”

In the long term, deepc will work with AI4VBH to create a safe environment in which other organizations can develop artificial intelligence tools for healthcare.

In March 2024, deepc joined King’s Health Partners Center for Digital Health to support the development of artificial intelligence technologies in radiology in the UK.

In July 2024, the Munich-based startup announced that it had Series A closed financing with a €12 million (£10 million) extension round, bringing the company’s total funding to date to €30 million (£25 million).
