Mike and Zara Tindall celebrated the former England rugby international’s 46th birthday in Barcelona last Friday.

The couple were spectators at the 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona without their three children, cheering on Ben Ainslie’s Ineos Britannia team.


Mike, who married into the royal family in 2011, shared a montage of videos and photos from his birthday trip called “Weekend Recap” on his TikTok and Instagram.

The video began with a selfie of Mike and Zara huddled in their waterproof jackets, watching from a nearby sailboat.

The couple were also photographed drinking champagne on a small boat with former rugby union player and Mike’s best man Ian Balshaw and his wife.

Other photos included event photos, Mike’s sailing-themed birthday cake and the 46-year-old posing with friends.

The caption read: “What a birthday weekend!!”

He also wrote, “Hated to see the comebacks come back, but an incredible experience nonetheless. “Barcelona also shocked!!!”

The I’m A Celebrity star thanked Georgie, Ben Ainslie and Ineos Britannia for her time in the Spanish city..

He later thanked former England team-mate Ian Balshaw, who “brought a laugh”, and called John Bassadone “simply the best presenter”.

Kate Balshaw, Ian Balshaw’s wife, commented on the post: “So much fun!”

The Tindalls and their friends watched as New Zealand retained the America’s Cup by defeating Great Britain.

Prince Harry introduced Mike and Zara during England’s victory at the Rugby World Cup in Australia in 2003, when Mike was still in the team. They married in 2011 and have three children: Mia, 10, Lena, six, and Lucas, three.

In his new book, The Good, the Bad and Rugby, Mike revealed his relationship with the royal family has always been good.

He said: “Believe it or not, marrying into the royal family was quite easy for me. They have always been good to me and I have always been good to them. It’s really simple.”
