Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon voted world’s best

Cabernet Sauvignon from the Adelaide Hills has won the prestigious International Wine Awards in Vienna.

Sebastien’s Amadio Wines Reserve Range Cabernet Sauvignon was recognized as “the best in the world”, taking first place in the Cabernet Sauvignon category at AWC Vienna 2024.

AWC Vienna 2024 is an international wine competition, officially recognized as the largest wine competition in the world.

In total, approximately 11,000 wines from 1,400 producers from around the world are anonymously judged in a blind tasting by an international jury and scored on an international 100-point system.

To receive a gold medal, a wine must score 90 or more points, a silver medal must score between 87 and 89.9 points, and a Seal of Approval must score between 84 and 86.9 points. Amadio Wines’ Sebastien’s Reserve Range 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon received a score of 92.5 and took first place in its category.

In addition, both the 2021 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2021 Sebastien’s Reserve Range Cabernet Sauvignon were awarded gold medals.

“We are thrilled and humbled to receive this incredible award,” said Danniel Amadio, Managing Director of Amadio Wines.

“Every bottle we create is a labor of love, a reflection of our commitment to quality and our deep connection to the earth. These awards are recognition of the hard work of our team and the support of our loyal customers who inspire us every day.”

Five more Amadio Wines wines received awards. The 2024 Single Vineyard Pinot Grigio, 2023 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2021 Single Vineyard Shiraz and 2018 Heritage Selection Sagrantino were awarded Silver Medals, while the 2022 Ruby’s Range Moscato received the Seal of Approval.

“At Amadio Wines, we believe that wine is more than just a drink; It’s experience, memory, connection. Every sip tells a story, and we’re excited to share it with you. Looking to the future, we remain steadfast in our mission to create wines that not only delight the palate, but also excite the heart,” shares Danniel.
