D-CAF will hold three contemporary dance performances

The Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF) will present three dance performances: “The Extra Mile” and “What Catch Your Eye,” directed and choreographed by Lotte Sig from Denmark, premiering in the Arab world, and “Manger Les Mots.” world premiere directed by Mounir Said from Egypt and Nagam Salah Osman from Sudan.

The performances will take place on Monday and Tuesday at 8 pm at the Greater Cairo Public Library as part of the festival’s performing arts program in its 12th edition, which began on Thursday and runs until November 10.

The festival offers the public three performances free of charge, with the possibility of attending by pre-registration on the festival’s social media page.

Extra mile

“Extra Mile” explores the concept of “too much” through voluminous drapery and deep drama, sensitively and playfully explored and expanded upon. The spirit of doing your best and overcoming life’s obstacles together is physical virtuosity executed masterfully,” D-Caf said in a statement.

“It has previously been exhibited at the National Gallery of Denmark, the Royal Actors Collection at Copenhagen’s picturesque harbour, Copenhagen City Hall, the Danish Center for Architecture, the National Library of Denmark and Art Nordic.”
