Brighter Super CEO Keith Farrar on how to get promoted

Ask Kate Farrar, chief executive of Brisbane-based pension fund Brighter Super, what advice she would give to executives looking for a promotion and she says: “Work hard and do a good job.”

But this is not enough. Farrar, whose fund manages $33 billion in assets on behalf of 285,000 members, says understanding a company’s culture is critical, but telling someone what you want is also a good idea.
