Thirty-two players have been nominated for the 11th annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, the NFL announced today. Each NFL team has nominated a player for the award, which recognizes individuals in the league who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship. San Francisco 49ers Nominated Quarterback Kyle Juszczyk for a reward.

The award was created in 2014 to honor the late Pittsburgh Steelers founder and Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney Sr.

A panel of former players from the NFL’s community of legends—Warrick Dunn, 2014 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award winner Larry Fitzgerald, Pro Football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and Leonard Wheeler—will select eight finalists (four in the AFC and four in the NFC) from 32 nominees. Eight finalists will be included on the Pro Bowl ballot for the NFL Sportsmanship Award category when players vote in December.

“Sportsmanship is at the core of the game, at the core of our values, which are shared at all levels of the sport,” said Troy Vincent, NFL executive vice president of football operations. “These Rooney Sportsmanship Award nominees show the world how the game is played with respect and integrity at the highest level of competition.”

The award is presented each year to the NFL player who best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship on the field, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and fair competition.
