What’s next for Climate Salad?

What’s next for Climate Salad?

As we look to the future, we are extremely proud of the journey we have taken over the past three years. Together we have made a significant contribution to the development of the climate technology industry in Australia, helping innovative companies solve some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

From the early days of our community to the thriving network we are today, none of this would have been possible without your unwavering support, passion, and commitment.

Since Climate Salad’s inception, we have worked tirelessly to connect, develop and empower Australian climate technology companies to solve global challenges.

Over the past three years, we’ve helped hundreds of startups grow, provided critical growth through trade missions, and built a community of founders, investors, and advocates. As a result of our collective efforts, Australia’s climate technology sector is stronger, with more companies developing solutions to tackle the climate crisis.

The industry is entering a new stage

Three years ago there was talk of starting to do this. Now we are talking about its elevation, strengthening and scaling.

Three years ago we knew of 12 climate technology companies. There are now more than 650 people in our community, and more are growing every day.

Three years ago there were only a few climate technology funds. Climate technology is now the number one area of interest for Australian investors and we have ten funds with more on the way.

Three years ago we explained what climate technology is. We now have several accelerators, co-working spaces and major events at all levels supporting this important new industry.

Three years ago we brought together 150 people to one national event. This year we will have over 1,000 people attending events across the country.

Three years ago we hoped that this industry would show its potential. This year he showed his strength.

focus 2025

As 2025 approaches, the Climate Salad will evolve. After reflecting on how best to continue our impact while ensuring long-term sustainability, we decided to implement a more streamlined and focused model. In this new phase, we will continue to support our community, but in a smaller format.

Starting in 2025, Climate Salad will focus on maintaining our online community, newsletters and webinars. These core elements will allow us to stay connected, share growth stories, and provide opportunities for connection. I will be partly driving this new model.

While this does mean that our amazing team will wind down at the end of the year and the number of programs will be reduced, we hope that the broader community will continue to step up and support each other in our stead.

Thanks to our community

We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey.

The founders who invest years of their lives into bringing these much-needed solutions to market, overcoming challenge after challenge. Your vision, faith and determination are creating a new, climate-friendly world. Please continue.

Thank you to our members and supporters who attended the webinar, shared news, came to the event, introduced themselves, or simply showed their passion. You are the village we need to unlock the full potential of this complex organism.

To all the partners who contributed to speeding up this process, thank you for pushing us. Especially those who have put their hands into their pockets (or budgets) and made financial contributions, both large and small. This enormous impact is achieved with a lot of love, but it takes a lot of work, and although there was no profit involved, it still comes with a real cost.

These include our amazing ecosystem supporters: Airwallex, Alberts, Austrade, Baresop, Brighte, Canva, Cecil Earth, Crestone, Everest Engineering, HAL Systems, HydGene Renewables, Hydrogen Council, Investible Climate Tech Fund, MGA Thermal, Minter Ellison, Rampersand, Samsara . Eco, Startup Bootcamp, SwitchDin, Twilio, UNSW Founders, Val.Ai, x15 and Xylo Systems.

And even more love to our great supporters, those who have supported us every time we asked: ACS, Ashurst, Australian Ethical Investments, Callaghan Innovations NZ, CEFC, City of Adelaide, City of Melbourne, City of Sydney, DEECA Victoria, Deloitte. , Future Super, GiantLeap, Global Vic, Google, Main Sequence, Microsoft, PWC, Pollination, Qantas, SpaceCubed, Stripe, City of Wellington, Titanium Ventures, Virescent, Westpac and Wollemi Capital.

And we’ve also had some big backers who are really critical for allowing us to have such a big impact so quickly. These groups supported us very, very early on in our journey, and credit goes to these teams for supporting such an ambitious and raw vision. A huge thank you to our incredible partners: AWS Startups Australia, Boundless Earth, Investment NSW, KPMG High Growth Ventures, LaunchVic, NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water and the Queensland Government.

To everyone who worked with us, thank you for your contribution. And especially for our current team who are working very hard to finish the year strong, we wouldn’t be here without you – you’re the best, thank you!

Big finish by 2024

While this is a significant change, our mission remains the same: to help climate technology companies grow and solve global climate challenges. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to continuing to support the climate technology community in this new phase.

The team finishes strongly. By the end of 2024, we will have achieved some outstanding results: in October, we organized a third US trade mission, which will open the door for Australian climate technology companies to enter international markets.

In December, we will complete our second Global Growth Program, which provided founders with the tools, connections and support needed to scale their businesses globally.

And the big finale, our fourth major climate tech event in Sydney, is dedicated to innovation and collaboration in the climate space. This year we’re calling it Australian Climate Tech Connect, with the goal of making a huge number of new and growing connections.

This will all culminate in the Climate Tech Awards, which we’d love for you all to attend to celebrate the amazing progress we’ve all made. Tickets are limited, so get yours today.

These achievements are a testament to the power of collaboration and the strength of the community we have built together. For all this we are deeply grateful. Thank you for being part of the Climate Salad journey. We are excited about the future and remain committed to making a positive impact on the world.
