Gators turn over offensive line, rookie from Cincinnati

The Florida Gators moved on from another top prospect in the 2025 class after an upset win over No. 9 Ole Miss on Saturday. This time they turned over Cincinnati offensive lineman Jahari Medlock. He joins linebacker Ty Jackson and wide receiver Muizz Tunkara in switching their verbal commitments to the Gators.

Medlock is a 6-foot-6, 278-pound offensive tackle from Riverdale, Georgia, who plays for Charles Drew High School. The three-star recruit is the No. 47 player out of Georgia and the No. 34 player at his position, according to On3.

Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Georgia are among others to offer the Georgia native.

Like two others who committed to the Gators this week, Medlock was present for the Gators’ important SEC win. So, it seems he finally saw what he needed to see from the Gators to pull the trigger.

Even before his visit, however, the trend seemed to be in Florida’s favor. There have been several On3 predictions that have him ending up with the Gators.

His promise will also continue the Gators’ rise in the 2025 team rankings. With Medlock on the roster, the Gators now have 17 commitments in the 2025 class. They are currently ranked No. 18 in the country and No. 10 in the SEC, according to 247 Sports.

Not long ago they took 43rd place and second to last place in the conference. A win and Billy Napier’s job security will do wonders for recruiting.

He also becomes the second offensive lineman in the class, joining Daniel Pierre Louis.

This is certainly a trend in the right direction for Florida that could continue as we approach early national signing day.
