While one rookie wide receiver made headlines Sunday for pointing the finger elsewhere, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette pointed the finger at himself.

While yesterday’s 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs was gutsy and highly controversial, it did include some dumb plays on the part of the Panthers, including this 0.27. . .

The fall negated a 33-yard gain on a must-goal run late in the fourth quarter. But fortunately, Legette’s mistake didn’t stop Young and the Panthers from eventually reaching the end zone to tie the game.

However, Legette told reporters Monday how he took responsibility for the missed opportunity. . .

Xavier Legette texted Bryce Young last night after throwing a pass down the sideline in the fourth quarter. He apologized to his quarterback and added: “It couldn’t have gone better.”
