Real Madrid announce 19-man squad to face Liverpool – 6 key players missing – Liverpool FC

Real will travel to the Champions League match against Liverpool with just 19 players, including three goalkeepers, as six will miss the match due to injury.

Real Madrid travel to Merseyside this week for their final meeting with the Reds, but will do so without many of their most important players.

They include Vinicius Jr, who suffered a new leg injury, as well as the long-term absentees Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Rodrygo and Eder Militao.

The Spanish club confirmed their 19-man away squad on Monday, with former Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni also missing.

It means Carlo Ancelotti will only be able to name an eight-man bench for Wednesday night’s match at Anfield, including two substitute goalkeepers.

Right-back Lucas Vazquez has returned to form after missing Sunday’s 3-0 win over Leganes but otherwise shows no signs of improvement.

Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Antonio Rudiger are among the key players included in the squad, while Thibaut Courtois is fit again after returning from an adductor injury at the weekend.

Ancelotti has few options at centre-back and Rudiger is likely to be partnered with Raul Asensio or Jesus Vallejo, neither of whom have played regularly this season.

Ferland Mendy is expected to start at left-back after being rested on Sunday, while Vazquez’s return could free up Valverde to return to midfield.

In Vinicius Jr’s absence, this could be an opportunity for either Endrick or Brahim Diaz, who both came on as substitutes at Leganes, although Ancelotti could also move Bellingham into attack.
