AEW Confirms 12 Competitors for 2024 Continental Classic

This year, AEW will officially host another round-robin tournament, the Continent Classic, with the prize being the AEW Continental Championship. Just like last year, the competitors will face each other at Dynamite, Rampage and Collision in the weeks leading up to AEW’s final pay-per-view in 2024, Worlds End.

In the “2024 AEW Continental Classic Selection Special” promotion, the company revealed that in addition to current champion Kazuchika Okada and Daniel Garcia, who announced their participation during the post-Full Gear press scrum, 10 more stars will compete. In the Golden League, Darby Allin, Claudio Castagnoli, Will Ospreay, Ricochet, Brodie King and Juice Robinson will compete against each other to score points. In the Blue League, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Briscoe, Shelton Benjamin and Beast Mortos will join Okada and Garcia for a chance to fight the Gold League winner at Worlds End on December 28th at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

Okada seemed very confident in his chances. His achievements were showcased in the aforementioned video and “Rainmaker” was given the opportunity to endorse himself. “I am the greatest tournament wrestler in the history of the sport. Kazuchika Okada is Japan’s greatest export,” the champion boldly declared.

“The Rainmaker” has successfully defended the Continental Championship six times since defeating Eddie Kingston to win the belt at Dinanite back in March of this year. However, he came close to losing the title when he fought Bryan Danielson on the five-year anniversary episode of Dynamite, but a stipulation that prevented him from losing the belt if he lasted at least 20 minutes allowed him to retain the gold . .
