Supreme Court dismisses SCBA and SCAORA’s plea against CBI probe into fake SLP

Supreme Court dismisses SCBA and SCAORA’s plea against CBI probe into fake SLP

During today’s hearing, the bench considered a CBI report which states that another case was registered on November 22 against ten people accused of misuse of process of court.

The SCBA and SCAORA filed a joint motion to amend the Sept. 20 ruling, arguing it could impact the rights of bar members.

However, the panel rejected this petition.

The court also rejected Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Archana Dave’s suggestion that a warning may be sufficient.

“No warnings. This statement does not suit you. If any lawyer cheats in court, he will be punished.” the court said.

He noted that no further orders are required as the CBI has already taken appropriate steps. Consequently, the case was closed.
