2024 AFLW All-Australian Team: Garner, Marinoff to Lead

North Melbourne’s Jasmine Garner and Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff have been named captain and vice-captain respectively of the 2024 AFLW All-Australian team.

The Team of the Year was named tonight at a gala event in Melbourne, with Garner and Marinoff elevated to become the seventh All-Australian team selected at tonight’s W Awards.

The two midfielders join Emma Kearney as the only AFLW players to feature in seven or more Australian squads.

12 players earned their first All Australian Blazer and eight retained their place in the 21-player squad selected for 2023.

Three Irish players – Aisling McCarthy, Aisling Moloney and Eileen Gilroy – were named in the squad, joining Orla O’Dwyer (6th season 2022) and Niamh Kelly (2023) as five Irish players who were selected to the Australian team. throughout the history of the competition.

Garner becomes a two-time Australia captain after she was awarded the honor in Season 7 in 2022, while Marinoff’s first season as co-captain with the Crows saw her named vice-captain.

West Coast Eagles youngster Ella Roberts, who turns 20 next month, was the youngest player on the team.

Reigning premiers Brisbane Lions and Adelaide Crows led the clubs with the most players selected, with four each, followed by North Melbourne and Fremantle with three.
