Australia’s Venue Co, the second largest pub group, sells 1.3 million portions of parmesan a year.

The chief executive of Australia’s second-largest pub group says the group’s 234 venues have seen rising costs since the end of September, which he attributes to a year-long pause in interest rates.

Paul Waterson, manager of Australia’s Venue Co, said while households were still looking for value, strong pre-bookings for Christmas events, up 16 per cent, were another indicator of a hint of optimism.
