Indiana women’s basketball guard Sidney Parrish was injured against Baylor.

Indiana women’s basketball guard Sydney Parrish suffered a leg injury in the second quarter of a 73-65 win over Baylor in Battle 4 Atlantis on Sunday afternoon.

She couldn’t put any weight on her left leg as trainers helped her back to the locker room. The injury came with IU leading 33-23 with 5:31 left in the half, and she did not return.

Indiana coach Teri Moren did not provide any information about the extent of the injury after the game. Morin told reporters that Parrish “needed some visualization” and was not expected to compete in Monday’s championship game.

“We will protect her, we still have a lot of season left,” Morin said.

Parrish grabbed the rebound under the basket but was tackled by Kayla Abraham, who was called for a foul. Abraham’s full weight landed on Parrish’s leg as they both fell to the floor.

The fifth-year senior entered the game averaging 10.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

The Hoosiers (3-2; 0-0 Big Ten) started strong, jumping out to a 25-10 lead over Baylor, but cooled off significantly to end the half. Baylor cut the lead to 37-33 with a 7-0 lead late in the second quarter.

It was a physical first half, with each team committing 13 personal fouls.
