Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 193 motorists while checking drunk driving – Telangana Today

The Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 193 people during a drunk driving probe on Saturday night and registered cases against them. The caught included 160 two-wheelers, 6 three-wheelers and 27 four-wheelers.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Traffic Police caught 193 people during a drunk driving probe on Saturday night and registered cases against them. The caught included 160 two-wheelers, 6 three-wheelers and 27 four-wheelers.

In Shamshabad and Miyapur, the traffic police caught 21 drivers each, while in Alwal 18 drivers were caught. A total of 79 cases have been filed against drivers aged 31 to 40 years.

Among the offenders, 19 individuals had blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) from 200 mg/100 ml to 550 mg/100 ml.

All offenders will be brought before the court for further proceedings.

Persons caught driving under the influence and responsible for fatal accidents will be arrested and prosecuted under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act 2023 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder). The maximum penalty for this crime is 10 years in prison and a fine, the traffic police warned.
