The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata will conduct the CAT 2024 exam today (November 24) in three shifts. Candidates will have to appear at the Common Admission Test (CAT) examination center as per the timing and reporting session specified in the admit card.

The first shift of CAT 2024 will start at 8:30 AM and continue till 10:30 AM and the second shift will be held in the afternoon from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The last and third session of CAT 2024 will start at 4:30 pm and end at 6:30 pm.

Candidates will have to bring their CAT 2024 admit card and original ID proof to the examination center.

CAT 2024 will be held today (November 24th) and the results are expected in late December or early January.

Exam day requirements

  • Printed copy of CAT 2024 admit card.
  • Valid original identification.

Marking scheme

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ):

  • Correct answers: +3 points.
  • Incorrect answers: -1 point.
  • Unattended issues: No ratings

For questions not related to MCQs:

  • Correct answers: +3 points.
  • Incorrect or ill-conceived answers: No marks.

Things to keep in mind

Carry your original ID proof and printed CAT 2024 admit card with you.

Attach a recent photograph (matching the one submitted with your application) to your admission ticket.

After the exam, send your pass to the special box.

You will be provided with a pen and sketch pad at the exam center; both must be returned after the test.

Only the mouse is allowed to control the online exam. Using the keyboard will lock the system.

Prohibited items

Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, watches, calculators, personal stationery, wallets and sunglasses are not allowed in the examination hall.

Non-disclosure agreement

Candidates must sign a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits the sharing, reproduction or transmission of any exam-related information in any form.

This time, as per the official website, 3.29 million eligible candidates are going to take the exam. The exam will be conducted at test centers in around 170 cities.
