“Tell your theater to turn up the volume to seven… I’ve been to a couple of showings and they’re more like 6.4,” Chu wrote. “If you want everything to be as it was intended, then seven is the way to go.”

One fan agreed that they thought the volume was too low when they watched the film, while another joked: “I show this tweet as soon as I walk into the cinema.”

“I just said yesterday that the volume seems sooo low! I’ll say something at the next screening!” – said another viewer.

Chu’s comments came after movie theater executives reminded moviegoers to respect their fellow moviegoers when attending film screenings. Wicked.

The second part of the film will be released a year later, in November 2025.

Bye Wicked turns out to be a hit at the box office, receiving mixed reviews from critics.

IndependentThe magazine’s Clarissa Lowry gave the film a three-star review, saying the film was “fun and well-acted” but “looks terrible.”

“Wicked now looks like any other movie. That’s his problem,” Lowry wrote. “It may be an adaptation of the musical based on the 1995 novel, but moments later it also ties directly into the classic 1939 musical. The Wizard of Oz.

“And while the film’s ‘Emerald City’ and ‘Oz’ are cemented in the public’s mind as dream worlds of vibrant hues and the most famous demonstration of the Technicolor process, Wicked shot and lit as if they were selling us an Airbnb in Mykonos.”

“The characters are aggressively backlit so that viewers can feel what it’s like to watch events unfold while looking directly into the sun.

“There are some brutal performances going on here, and it’s clear that hours upon hours of intricate handcraft went into the film’s sets, but director Jon M. Chu (of On top And Crazy Rich Asians fame) treats his land of Oz as if it were as ordinary as a city block.”
