Finnair cancels almost 300 flights due to pilots’ strike

Finnair was forced to cancel around 300 flights due to the pre-Christmas pilots’ strike, which will affect around 33,000 passengers.

On 24 November 2024, Finnair reported that the Finnish Airline Pilots Association had notified the Finnish airline that strikes would take place on 9 and 13 December 2024.

“It is disappointing that the Finnish Airlines Pilots Association has chosen to go on strike rather than negotiate. Unfortunately, this is disrupting the travel plans of thousands of our customers during the pre-Christmas season. We are doing our best to serve our customers well even in this difficult situation and will offer alternative flights to as many customers as possible,” said Finnair Chief Operating Officer Jaakko Schildt.
