Hemant Soren’s oath ceremony: Hemant Soren’s oath ceremony as Chief Minister of Jharkhand on November 26, Rahul Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee will attend

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren is set to take oath for the fourth time as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on November 26, sources said.

Soren plans to meet Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar today, November 24, at 4 pm and formally stake his claim to form the government, sources said.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a grand event with the participation of key leaders of the opposition INDIA bloc, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, AAP national chief Arvind Kejriwal, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. and others who plan to attend.

Soren’s return to power was assured by the triumph of the JMM-led coalition in the Jharkhand assembly elections. The alliance, which includes JMM, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and CPI-ML, won a total of 56 seats in the 81-member assembly.

JMM won 34 seats, Congress 16, RJD 4 and CPI-ML 2, paving the way for a second consecutive term in power for the INDIA bloc alliance.

In contrast, the BJP suffered a crushing defeat, winning only 21 seats, one of its worst performances since the formation of Jharkhand in 2000.

After a turbulent year, Soren planned a stunning turnaround for his party and secured his political future. He won the Barhait constituency, defeating BJP rival Gamliel Hembrom by a large margin of 39,791 votes.

We passed the test of democracy in Jharkhand,” he said about the JMM-led coalition’s poll results at a press conference on Saturday.

Earlier in 2024, Hemant Soren resigned as chief minister and was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of corruption related to mining leases. After spending several months in jail, the Jharkhand High Court granted him bail.

After his release he returned as chief minister and quickly rallied the JMM-Congress coalition not only to fight back against anti-incumbent politics, but also to secure a strong mandate in the Assembly elections.

The ruling JMM-led alliance has not only retained its tribal strongholds but also expanded its influence, dealing a major blow to the BJP’s hopes of making inroads in the state.

Soren’s leadership and focus on the well-being of the tribes, combined with strategic partnerships, were key to the success of his rainbow alliance. The BJP is indicated to be defeated in 27 of the 28 seats reserved for tribals. voters’ rejection of their polarizing campaign in favor of the DMM coalition version that the loser takes over the powers that be.
