Oregon Ducks wide receiver decides to stop recruiting Dacorien Moore

Oregon Ducks five-star prospect Dacorien Moore recently announced that he will stop recruiting and will sign with the Ducks on December 4th. The early signing period begins Dec. 4, and Oregon fans will be happy to hear that Moore intends to make his commitment official in a few weeks.

“Oregon family, let’s build something special! Recruiting is officially closed,” Moore told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Moore is the top wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite and has the potential to make an immediate impact upon arriving on campus. He is the highest-rated recruit in the state of Oregon and the No. 8 prospect in the country, regardless of position. Moore committed to the Ducks on July 4, and the elite receiver hasn’t wavered in his decision.

The Ducks have had recent recruiting success in Texas, but Moore’s landing is one of the more high-profile recruits to come to Oregon from the Lone Star State. The five-star recruit had offers from every top program in the country, but ultimately chose the Ducks over the Texas Longhorns.

“I chose the path to be different and create a legacy,” Moore said.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning has amassed an unprecedented recruiting rate during his time in Eugene, and Moore is one of three consensus five-star players currently committed to Lanning and the Ducks.

Fellow five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson committed to Oregon for nearly a year and a half before Moore committed to play for the Ducks. However, Wilson will visit the Florida Gators this weekend after already making the trip to Gainesville earlier in the season. Can the Ducks keep the elite wide receiver from Tampa, Florida?

In addition, Oregon State safety Trey McNutt is also rated a five-star by the 247Sports Composite. McNutt is the No. 2 safety in the 2025 recruiting class and No. 27 overall.

If the Ducks keep Moore, Wilson and McNutt, they will sign five-star recruits from Texas, Florida and Ohio, respectively. Lanning is quickly proving that he can overcome any fear of going to Oregon.
