TechM partners with 60-70 GCC to provide customized services – Industry News

Tech Mahindra partners with 60-70 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) with a strong focus on providing customized services, meeting evolving needs and sourcing talent to meet their evolving needs.

“GCC has come into the limelight and is definitely the talk of many organizations in India,” said Ram Ramachandran, Senior Vice President, Business India, Middle East and Africa, Tech Mahindra. “We are supporting this evolution by expanding our service lines and capabilities, particularly for the GCC, beyond traditional resource-based models,” he added.

The IT company’s services to the GCC range from providing next-generation artificial intelligence solutions to cloud capabilities and advanced business models (BPO). The company is addressing significant needs for artificial intelligence (AI), particularly generative AI (GenAI) and cognitive AI, as organizations seek scalable, diverse and fast solutions.

The company sees significant demand from high-tech organizations that are growing rapidly. These requirements include engineering research and development, generative artificial intelligence, and AI-enabled operations.

Banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) is also undergoing a transformation, with a growing need for India as a captive hub. Similarly, the manufacturing sector is showing strong demand and telecom is investing in transformation despite global stress, he said.

“There is a huge demand for next generation services. AI, including generative AI, is at the forefront as organizations see relevant use cases emerge,” Ramachandran said. The company is also helping GCC countries transition to the cloud by offering a mix of private and public cloud solutions.

Regarding BPO, Ramachandran emphasized that the traditional agent-driven model is moving towards agentless capabilities by combining human and technological expertise. In addition, demand for module-based and build-operate-transfer models is growing.

GenAI also serves as a significant cost optimizer for companies, reducing costs by 15-20% across various operations. Ramachandran said GenAI is particularly effective at automating repetitive and routine tasks, replacing roles such as data entry operators, document processors and first-line support staff.

Talent Development for the GCC

Tech Mahindra is also actively involved in talent development in the GCC. This includes co-investing and co-developing training programs in line with GCC roadmaps. “There is a huge talent gap and we are looking for the best way to grow it,” Ramachandran said.

He said Tech Mahindra does not view the GCC as competitors but as an extension of the ecosystem. “This shows India’s evolving role as a technology hub. This benefits everyone in the ecosystem,” said Ramachandran.
