What happens if Diddy posts bail today?

Sean “Diddy” Combs will appear in court today without shackles as he seeks release on $50 million bail for the third time while awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Combs’ legal team is insisting that he appear unshackled at future court hearings and is seeking bail similar to that of former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries, who was released on $10 million bail with house arrest and electronic observation.

Diddy is expected back in court around 2 p.m. today.

The outcome of today’s hearing could have a significant impact on Diddy’s future pending trial.

The proposed deal for Combs would include house arrest, 24-hour security and a ban on contact with alleged victims or witnesses.

The legal battle intensified following a federal search of Combs’ cell in October by the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI and other agencies, which his lawyers argued violated his Fourth Amendment rights.

Raid Diddy’s Jail Cell

His lawyers accuse federal prosecutors of editing video to falsely show him attacking Cassie Ventura and argue that agents illegally seized confidential material from his Brooklyn jail cell that should be protected by attorney-client privilege.

They claim the raid, supposedly to seize drugs and weapons, was actually a cover to check personal legal records. Prosecutors admitted to photographing 19 pages of those records, but a judge ruled they should be deleted.

When is Diddy coming out?

Two judges found that Combs would be a danger to society if released.

At a bail hearing last month, a proposal for $50 million bail, including home detention and electronic monitoring, was rejected over concerns that Combs could tamper with witnesses and impede the investigation.

-What did Diddy do?

The three-count indictment accuses Diddy of running the business to satisfy his sexual desires.

Beginning around 2008 and continuing for many years, he allegedly assaulted women by hitting, punching, dragging, throwing objects and kicking them.

The indictment alleges that he operated as part of “The Combs Enterprise,” which includes Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises and Combs Global, engaging individuals and activities affecting interstate and foreign commerce.

It also details Diddy’s “Freak Off” parties, where he and his associates allegedly lured female victims and then forced them to perform sex acts on sex workers.

Diddy faces racketeering, forced sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution.

Diddy, 55, also faces potential lawsuit in several civil suits and one criminal suit.
