Childish Gambino cancels 2025 Australian tour

Childish Gambino has canceled its Australian and New Zealand leg of The New World tour.

In a statement sent to ticket holders, Gambino (AKA Donald Glover) admitted that his recovery from recent surgery is taking longer than expected.

“Unfortunately, my road to recovery is taking longer than expected,” he said.

“Upcoming concerts in Australia and New Zealand have been cancelled. One of the last things I would ever want to do is disappoint my fans.

“I really appreciate your support and know that I will do everything possible to give you an exceptional experience when the time comes. Thank you”.

This canceled tour comes after Gambino canceled his remaining dates in North America, the UK and Europe following a hospital visit in October.

“After the performance in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to verify the illness had manifested itself,” he wrote.

“At the moment I have surgery scheduled and I need time to recover.”

Childish Gambino’s The New World tour was due to begin in Auckland on January 28 before hitting the road across Australia in February, with additional dates added in Sydney and Melbourne to accommodate requests.

Ticketek said refunds will be issued to customers automatically.
