Set Points in Pokémon TCG Pocket can be used to purchase new cards, but you may not have realized that they will expire if you don’t use them.

At least I didn’t notice it myself. Pack Points can be earned by opening booster packs in the mobile game and can then be spent on certain cards.

This feature is a little hidden, but can be accessed through an icon in the bottom right corner of the booster screen. Here cards can be purchased for as little as 35 pack points and up to 500 pack points for the rarest EX cards.

This is especially useful for getting certain cards to complete missions and themed collections, or just to simply get a favorite card that you didn’t happen to find in a booster pack.

However, as stated in the game information, these points will eventually expire.

“If the availability period for a given booster pack ends, its pack points will no longer be available for redemption,” the information reads.

What is this availability period? The game doesn’t say anything, and The Pokémon Company hasn’t divulged it.

What we do know is that the new booster packs will be available “by the end of the year,” but it’s unclear if current booster points will expire at that time.

The next events of the game have also been revealed through a datamine, which will focus on the first generation starting character Bulbasaur.

Since its release, Pokémon TCG Pocket has already surpassed $120 million in sales, with in-game spending averaging $6.4 million every day.
