A woman will face drug charges after a body was found in a Richland hotel room, police say.

A Montgomery County woman will face drug charges in Cambria County court after officers reportedly discovered a body in the bathtub of a Richland Township hotel room, authorities said.

Summer Sheri Bechtold, 27, of Mont Clair, waived her right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Susan Gindlesperger of Upper Yoder Township.

Richland Township police charged Bechtold with possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the affidavit, on Nov. 6, police were called to the Comfort Inn & Suites, 455 Theater Drive, for a report of a death.

When officers arrived, they allegedly found the man face down in a bathtub half filled with water.

He was identified as Eric Carll, a Florida resident in his 30s, police Detective Kevin Godlip said.

Police allegedly found an aluminum foil pipe and a lighter in his right hand.

Police also found burnt aluminum foil, which is commonly used for illegal drugs, and one piece of aluminum foil that had white powder residue on it, according to the affidavit.

The victim’s cellphone allegedly contained a phone number that police used to trace Bechtold.

Police said the two agreed to meet in a hotel room, and the hotel’s security camera allegedly showed Bechtold entering the room and leaving about an hour later.

Bechtold is being held in the Cambria County Jail in Ebensburg on a $100,000 bond.
