We still don’t know what Christopher Nolan’s next film will be about, but Robert Pattinson is collaborating with the director again after Tenet.

No matter what you think of Tenet (2020) as a whole, you have to admit that Robert Pattinson’s mysteriously charming Neil was one of the best parts of this film. Luckily, a major collaboration with Christopher Nolan is happening again.

While we’ve yet to learn the actual plot (whether it’s about vampires or just helicopter pilots), the cast of this mysterious upcoming Nolan film won’t stop growing and could be one of the hottest right now. It currently includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o and Zendaya.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve learned that Pattinson is the latest name to be added to the already impressive list. While other Hollywood insiders said he was in talks, THR seems confident the actor will firmly join the ensemble. “Sources say Damon, Holland, Hathaway and now Pattinson are the main cast in the film.”

Then again, Nolan himself is writing the screenplay for the big screen film, which Universal has already dated for July 17, 2026, a date close to the 2023 release date for Oppenheimer, an R-rated biopic that earned $975 million worldwide and won seven Oscars earlier this year, including Best Picture and Best Director. Nolan will likely return to pure blockbuster territory with his next project, but he’s one of those directors who always aims as high as possible, so we fully expect a strong twist/angle in whatever he’s cooking up now.

Pattinson’s next big film is Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, a film that was shot back in 2022 and won’t be released until April 18, 2025, after several strategic delays. As for The Batman 2, it doesn’t appear that filming will begin until early next year due to some scheduling conflicts and Matt Reeves putting extra work into the script.

“Insiders say nothing has come close to realizing Nolan’s actual vision,” THR added in its report, suggesting that we may not know the true nature of the writer-director’s next project until the studio releases an official synopsis/logline. Do you want to accept bets?
