Winners of the latest Australian Fashion Laureate Awards

Country Road founder Stephen Bennett has been named a Lifetime Achievement Award winner at the Australian Fashion Awards, despite the programme’s future – and Australia’s Fashion Week – looking uncertain following the unexpected loss of its main sponsor.

The mood in the room was festive as Bennett was named among this year’s honorees at a lunch attended by industry heavyweights at Sydney’s Bennelong restaurant on Thursday, despite international events and fashion company IMG, which last week announced it was withdrawing after almost 20 years.
