Hoda Kotb admits that he is hiding in it minivan to avoid household responsibilities.

Kotb smiled sheepishly as she chatted. Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager on the NBC morning show Released on Wednesday, November 20th.

“Did I tell you that I like my minivan? I love it so much,” enthuses Kotb, 60.

“Have you already (gone) there to hide from your children?” asked 42-year-old Bush Hager.

Kotb nodded her head and said that the day before: “I rented out my house. I was sitting outside and didn’t go in… But I was in the car. So I watched and waited.”

Kotb, who shares daughters Hailey, 7, and daughter Hope, 5, with his ex Joel Shiffmansaid she has a hard time “getting things done” when she goes home because “as soon as I get there, I can’t do anything. I did my business (in the car) and then came in later.”

“You’ll find yourself sitting in the car, listening to music and just spending time alone,” Bush Hager said, supporting Kotb’s solitude in the minivan. “And wait, you say, ‘Okay, maybe one more song.’

“Sometimes you need that time,” Kotb noted. “You reboot. And then you’re ready.”

Today fans have watched Kotb and Bush Hager swap candid stories and parenting tips since the latter replaced Kathie Lee Gifford in the fourth hour of the show. Kotb, who was with Today since 2007, announced in September that she would leave in early 2025 after nearly three decades at NBC overall.

“At 60 years old, I realized it was time to turn the page and try something new. Now is the right time for me to move on,” Kotb explained at the time, citing her children as a big influence in her decision to leave for another, as-yet unspecified role at NBC.

“My first reaction was instinctive, and it was almost crazy. … I said, ‘No, you can’t leave,'” Bush Hager said on Today after the announcement. “You are the one I come to when I feel joy, when I feel insecure. You are the one I came to and you believed in me first. We have a lot of bosses, and I love them, but this woman on October 28, 2013—I looked—said, “Hey, do you want to sit next to me?” There’s room there.”

Replacing Kotb with Today with Hoda and Jenna was not chosen and the show will continue as Today with Jenna and friends with changing composition guest hosts until a permanent selection is made.

Kotb recently admitted to Electronic news! that she has no say in who replaces her. All she could do was push Bush Hager to stand up for what “feels right.”

“I said, ‘Jenna, feel who you want to be.’ Feel what feels right for you,” she explained. “She will know because the only way it will work is whether they have the vibe or not. Just a fun party atmosphere. It can’t be forced.”
