Lara Trump hopes to avoid appointment disruptions in father-in-law’s office

Rumors are swirling about whether the president-elect will adjourn the Senate and appoint his Cabinet, as some of his nominees may have trouble getting through Congress. Presidents have rarely used these powers.

“Well, I hope we don’t have to get there.” I hope that overall there are enough Republican senators who will say, “Yes, we understand the importance of this choice.” We will go ahead and confirm these people,” Lara Trump said on Fox News. Fox and friends on Wednesday. “They need to be confirmed, so I hope we don’t have to wait for that day to come.”

The Senate is currently in its first session since the Nov. 5 election and is rushing through judicial appointments while Democratic members still hold a majority and President Joe Biden is still in office. Meanwhile, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is accompanying former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz to meetings with senators to gather votes for his nomination.

“I hope that Senate Republicans have taken note: This is what the American people demand, and this is what they should do exactly the way Donald Trump chose,” Lara Trump said.

Ahead of his second term as president, Donald Trump has made appointments quickly this time. Republican senators hope to approve them before the Jan. 20 inauguration, so the president-elect only needs to sign the documents to make them official. During the next Congress, Republicans will have a majority in the Senate and will be able to reject any attempt to block Donald Trump’s appointments.

Since Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) emerged as a candidate to become the next Secretary of State, Lara Trump has been tapped to replace him in the Senate and represent Florida. She has served as co-chair of the RNC since March.
