EAST LIVERPOOL (WKBN) – At least three houses and a two-story garage were at the scene of a fire in East Liverpool Sunday evening.

Crews received the call around 8 p.m. in the 600 block of Avondale Street. East Liverpool, Liverpool Township, Wellsville, Glenmoore and Calcutta fire departments responded to assist. The State Fire Marshal was also on scene, and a water tanker was brought in from St. Clair Township.

Officials said a total of five unoccupied structures were burning and no injuries were reported.

Black smoke filled the sky throughout the city center.

The state fire marshal will be on scene again Monday to continue investigating the cause of the fire.
