Heartland beat Abia Warriors in Umuahia to win the Eastern Derby 2-0

Heartland Football Club of Owerri on Sunday beat Abia Warriors of Umuahia by scoring two goals.

The defeat marked the second time Abia Warriors have lost at home in the current season of the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Heartland scored one goal 12 minutes into the first half through Michael Ogue and another in the second half through Agor Chukwuemeka.

Countless efforts by the Abia Warriors forwards and midfielders to equalize or win the match proved futile as the Heartland defenders formed a strong cover around their goal post.

On the other hand, it was a good day for Enyimba FC of Aba as they drew 1-1 away against Bayelsa United.
