LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The first meeting of the regular season between the Vegas Golden Knights and their new rival to the north, Utah Hockey Club, raised expectations of a competitive rivalry as the Knights beat Utah 4-3 in extra time.

“I think everyone kind of realized they had been there for a while,” Brett Howden said. “Hanifin made the play for me and I just tried to put it in the net.”

Howden managed to find the back of the net early in overtime, his sixth goal of the season, despite Utah leading 2–0 early in the game.
