Liverpool could land an in-form left-back for a reduced fee as Prem minnows admit defeat

There is a reported belief that Wolves will not be able to keep hold of Ryan Ait-Nouri, meaning Liverpool could sign the out-of-favour defender for a cut-rate price.

Liverpool under Arne Slott has largely retained the same team as under Jurgen Klopp. But Slote’s desire to find his best team could see him move to left-back.

Indeed, he has rotated between Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas this season, with neither able to fully fill the position.

Given the long-term interest in Ait-Nouri, the Reds may have a good chance of getting this deal done.

Football Insider reiterates that the club have been keeping an eye on the Wolves left-back for some time and claims they could sign him for a reduced price.

Indeed, there are reports of recognition that the Molineux group will not be able to retain Ait-Nouri, leading to their position of potentially accepting a lower fee.

It comes amid speculation that the Algerian is keen to move away from the bottom-placed Premier League side but wants to remain in England’s top flight and play at the highest possible level.

The pursuit of the Liverpool left-back is clear

TEAMtalk previously reported Liverpool’s interest in Ait-Nouri, with sources suggesting in March that Jurgen Klopp had recommended him to the club as a parting bid.

But TEAMtalk recently learned that the Reds are likely to make a bid for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez instead.

Bournemouth expect this could be his last season and are preparing for offers.

However, it is more likely that Kerkez will be signed than Ait-Nouri, although the situation could change, as could the latter’s price.

Liverpool review: attacking stars in sight

Slot is also keen on expanding his attacking line, especially with Mohamed Salah’s future in doubt.

With the Egyptian leaving at the end of the season, the Reds are reportedly interested in signing Karim Adeyemi to replace him.

They are also interested in Napoli player Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but Manchester United have burst onto the scene after him, potentially causing problems for the Reds.

Liverpool are also understood to be looking to pair Antoine Semenyo and Brian Mbeumo in the Premier League, both of whom are currently in good form.

Ait-Nuri is in great shape

In 10 Premier League appearances this season, Ait-Nouri has already improved on the best result of his England career.

That he did this for a team at the bottom of the league shows that he can be a fantastic asset with better players around him, and one who fits well with Liverpool’s image of allowing his full-backs to bomb the pitch and participate in attacks.
