‘SNL’ Weekend Update Mocks Donald Trump’s Garbage Truck Appearance

Saturday Night Live (SNL) took aim at Donald Trump in a weekend news segment, mocking his appearance in a garbage truck.

Trash became a major issue in the election, with both campaigns suffering the consequences of people associated with them comparing others to trash.

SNL Hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che took aim at Trump taking advantage of the backlash. President Joe Biden and, by extension, Kamala Harris’ campaign faced Trump holding a press conference from a garbage truck at a Wisconsin airport last Wednesday.

Yost began by showing a photo of Trump wearing the bright orange high-visibility vest he wore during the stunt and said, “Former President Donald Trump is seen here after he was rescued after 30 days in a lifeboat.”

He then continued to laugh as he told the audience how he gave “a press conference from a garbage truck with his name on it.”

“And my favorite part,” Yost continued, “was when he tried to open the truck door and missed.”

The show then aired a clip of Trump apparently trying to grab the door handle of a truck twice.

“He looks as drunk as I will be on Tuesday night (Nov. 5),” Jost joked.

This comes after Biden allegedly called Trump supporters “trash” last Tuesday in response to comedian Tony Hinchcliffe calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of trash” at a Republican rally at Madison Square Garden last Sunday.

Donald Trump Jr. set a Halloween dress code for MAGA supporters by wearing a cheesy trash bag look that went viral online.

As his father and Kamala Harris battled who was branded “trash” after the Republican rally at Madison Square Garden, Trump Jr. posted a family photo showing him wearing a black trash bag filled with clear plastic bottles. plastic bags and a crumpled brown paper box taped to his body. The look was completed with a red Make America Great Again cap.

He wrote on X earlier on Twitter: “Happy Halloween. Accept their hatred and acknowledge it. Then VOTE! !!!”

Meanwhile, the former president denies knowing Hinchcliffe, and senior Trump adviser Danielle Alvarez has reported the matter. Newsweek that “the joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”

SNL He went on to describe how, hours after Trump’s garbage truck stunt, he told a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, that he “will stand up for women whether they like it or not.”

“For example, he will force anyone who is a danger to women to wear an orange vest,” Jost joked, again showing a photo of Trump in a reflective vest.

Che then joined in on the mockery of Trump when, at a Friday rally in Milwaukee, they showed a clip of him jokingly simulating oral sex into a microphone, which he had problems with.

According to Yost, Trump “appeared to mime doing something very specific with (the microphone)” before asking the audience to “see if (they) could guess.”

After several other attacks on Trump, Yost briefly took aim at Democrats, showing a fake photo of Biden bound and gagged at the White House — presumably while Harris was making her campaign’s closing arguments.

He also cited last week’s photo of Biden biting a child dressed as a chicken at a Halloween party at the White House.

Newsweek contacted Trump’s team by email after hours for comment.

This weekend’s episode also saw Harris make a surprise appearance on the channel. SNLappearing alongside actress Maya Rudolph, who has played the vice president on the series since 2019.

The scene featured a mirror sequence in which Rudolph and Harris engaged in the vice president’s signature puns, including variations of her name including “Dramala” and “Palmala”.
