Hallandale Beach woman says someone found her service dog but refuses to give back her beloved Yorkie – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

HALLANDALE BEACH, FLORA. (WSVN) – A South Florida woman is asking for the public’s help after she says her service dog strayed from her home and ended up in the hands of a man who is having a hard time getting her back.

Speaking to 7News on Saturday afternoon, Marina Kadyevskaya asked for information while holding a framed photo of Sierra, her beloved Yorkie.

“I just need your help because I don’t know how to find this girl who has my dog and she just doesn’t want it back,” she said.

Now Kadyevskaya is desperately trying to bring her service dog home.

“I’m asking people to help me find the dog because it’s not just a pet; she helps me with my disability,” she said.

Kadyevskaya said that everything happened last Sunday, October 27. She sat on the porch of her Hallandale Beach home with her beloved Yorkie.

“I went into the house to get something and when I came out she was gone,” she said. “I start running through the streets and calling for her.”

But Sierra was nowhere to be found.

“I go out to another street and ask all the neighbors if they saw her, and no one said that they saw her,” Kadyevskaya said.

She said when Kadyevskaya checked her phone, she saw a message that brought her one step closer to finding Sierra.

“Which said, ‘Dog found at Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Highway 1,’” she said.

Kadyevskaya said she contacted her in hopes of reunification.

“Please, I’m begging you, please help me with this reunion, this is my puppy.” No answer,” she said.

Twenty-four hours later the post was deleted.

“And I can’t contact her at all. I don’t know her name, I don’t know her phone number, I don’t know her address, I don’t know anything,” Kadyevskaya said.

Police told Kadyevskaya that their hands were tied, but did not provide any information about the person who originally made the report.

Now she’s heartbroken because, she says, Sierra is not just a pet, but her closest friend.

“Nine years with her and now I’m hopeless and very insecure because I can’t do anything without her,” she said, holding back tears.

Devastated, Kadyevskaya turns to the public for help.

“If you post, please return the dog. If you don’t want to return it in the first place, why are you posting this?” she said.

Kadyevskaya had one simple message.

“Please bring my dog back to my home. I’m begging you, please,” she said.

There is now a $2,500 reward for Sierra’s return. Kadyevskaya stated that she did not intend to press charges; she just wants to bring her dog home.
